The heat of the summer is beginning to fade and with the arrival of Autumn comes blue skies, warm days, a blaze of autumnal colours and gastronomic delights!

If you are a foodie, every month is a great month to get married in Italy but in October there are so many mouth watering harvests, it is the season for food feasts! Your wedding menu can reflect the bounty of the land, sampling world famous dishes picked from the ground that day.

It is also a great time to offer something different to your guests maybe a truffle hunt with some of the locals and then feast on your treasure on your return to the villa. Or a visit to one of the many food festivals.  With festivals honouring the noble mushroom, chestnuts, grapes, chocolate and truffles. All over Italy the weekends are full of festivals celebrating the Autumn harvest you will be spoilt for choice.

Tuscany, Umbria, Le Marche, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont host some of the biggest truffle fairs in the country.

If like me, you love this time of year because of the warm days and the welcoming open fires in the evening, this is the perfect time of year for the whole family.

Getting married in Italy in October also offers some financial benefits, the airfares are cheaper and you will be able to find great discounts on accommodation and services.  Certainly food for thought!
