If there was ever a inspirational marriage then this must be it.

The Royal wedding was celebrated on the 20th November 1947 at Westminster Abbey followed by a opulent reception at Buckingham Palace. 65 years on The Queen and Prince Philip are an inspiration for a wonderful strong loving marriage.

Congratulations HRH Queen Elisabeth and HRH Prince Philip on their wedding anniversary.

THAT DRESS!!

Pippa Middleton's stunning Alexander McQueen bridesmaid's dress which was designed to complement her sisters more elaborate lacy design is perfect for a bride with understated elegance. While there are copies out there, nothing can match the beauty of Alexander McQueen's design and as of next week it will be going on sale!!

A Groom With A View... 11 weeks to go!

Mike, our groom with a view with his beautiful bride to be.
As the days and weeks tick by bringing us rapidly closer to our main event, it appears that weddings are all around us. While the analysts and commentators devoured every royal detail of a very royal wedding, Amber and I found ourselves in the beautiful village of Sneem in Southern Ireland, attending the last family wedding before our own.

Finally I am getting around to writing about the Royal wedding! If you read yesterdays post you will know I watched the Royal wedding ceremony sitting in a bar in Tuscany surrounded by Italian men who all claimed they had left home to get away from the Royal wedding, only to find it on in their local at my instance!

Someone like you...

I can not believe a week has passed since  the wedding of Cassandra and Sean in Tuscany. It was a fun filled wedding full of laughter, so much food and lovely wine. But what made it more special is how lovely Cass and Sean are!

Destination wedding / Hats

I know it looks like we are going Royal Wedding crazy and I admit we are a little!  Kate Middleton will take up the baton for British and Irish fashion designers and become one of the most photographed women in the world.  As she steps in to this roll I am delighted to say she is already a great ambassador for the Milinery industry and promoter of the Fascinator.

Two brides counting down the days till their wedding at the end of April...

London gets ready for the Royal wedding

There are just nine days to go until HRH Prince William of Wales ties the knot with Catherine Middleton, and no doubt pre-wedding jitters have well and truly set in.
My lovely bride, Cassandra, has been watching the run up to the Royal wedding being advertised on every television channel, newspaper, Internet site and even sweetie wrappers with I am sure a slight flutter in her chest as her wedding is the very next day...

Traditional fruit Wedding Cake

We are all predicting many of our brides to be inspired by the Royal wedding. I am guessing by the small details we are learning that Kate Middleton's chosen theme for her day could be English rose or vintage England as their chosen cake designer is the wonderful Fona Carins.

Just over 2 weeks until the Royal wedding!

As the Royal wedding fast approaches and more information is made public, you hear of the personal touches the couple have put in to their wedding day. Today I read ''the couple have also asked McVitie’s
Cake Company to create a chocolate biscuit cake for the reception at Buckingham Palace.

Shoes fit for a Princess

Ahh it is bridal fever and the questions are still open. Who is designing Kate Middleton's bridal shoes when she marries her prince this year?
If we could vote we would vote for Emmy.
Here at The Italian Wedding Planner we have a bit of a soft spot for Jenny Packham dresses, who has teamed up with Emmy. The collaboration of Emmy and Jenny Packham represents the natural synergy between the two designers, renowned for their glamorous vintage-inspired style and unique approach to embellishment.

How to keep your guests in line during formal group photographs...

Reportage photography is a style most photographers now practice; it is a style I favour over the posed formal shots. Although I do still like formal group photos and when one of my couples request a formal photograph we work hard with the photographers to ensure that it captures everyone in the best light! Which trust me is not very easy when you have 100's of guests!

When I read India Hicks recent interview in Tatler regarding her day as a bridesmaid for Princess Diana’s Royal wedding, she said ‘’ Patrick Lichfield took the wedding photographs. A cousin-once-removed to the Queen, he was well practiced at being around the royals and came armed with a whistle so he could keep the wedding party in line.’’ Personally I am not sure how wedding guests would react to a whistle during the formal photographs,  but I like the idea of it!

The full version appears in the February issue of Tatler, out now.
