I am so excited to share a few of the photos from last weeks wedding in Umbria!
When Leah and Chris first contacted me, we chatted about they type of wedding they would like. The brief was small town, beautiful scenery, great food and wine and in a location where they could explore the area. Last week Chris reminded me that the very first location I sent over to them during that first skype call was Montone!
From there the ball started to roll and while Chris and Leah prepared all the documents with the British Embassy in Dubai we got things going here in Italy.
It is always worrying when you plan a couples wedding via remote that they might arrive at the venue and not like it... To my immense relief they sent me a message when they arrived saying how much they loved it! PHEW!
I arrived the day before the wedding to present the documents at the town hall of Montone and suddenly it all became real, they were getting married the next day!
With the temperature a scorching 38oc the wedding took place in the evening, in the hope it would be cooler. I must say a big thank you to the Mayor of Montone for conducting the wedding in English and for his charm, putting the bride and groom at ease!
After the wedding we sojourned to the piazza for prosecco, which the Mayor joined us in, before going for some photographs around the town and out in to the countryside. The joy of working with someone as friendly and happy as Lelia, who is the talent behind these great photos is unmeasurable!
As the sun was setting the Bride and Groom rejoined their guests at Locanda di Capitano for a feast beautifully prepared by chef Giancarlo Polito.
It was a honour to have been part of Leah and Chris's wedding day and to have met their friends and family who were all lovely!
Now I am going to let these wonderful photos share a glimpse of the day, tell the story! For more photos please visit: Lelia Scarfiotti..
