Wedding trends in 2012

Yes we did it!
It may only be September, but when it comes to planning your wedding, you can never start early enough! We are getting lots of enquiries and booking for weddings in Italy next year. It is great to know that couples are as ever, forward thinking and organised.

With dress designers setting out their designs for next year there is a much welcomed return to feminine and romantic styles. When planning your special day it is always nice to look at the current trends but it is also wonderful to be creative and a trendsetter!
Here are our top five predictions for weddings in Italy 2012...

1.Multiple gowns: The recent trend of having a separate reception dress shows no sign of stopping. Many brides will choose to have a fuller, more ornate dress for their ceremony, and a more manageable or more casual dress for partying the night away.  It is clear that the reception dress should be much more relaxed and fun. Basically a perfect opportunity to have both the wedding dresses you adore!

    2. Luxurious lace: After the Royal wedding, lace has made a massive come back and it looks set to stay for a while.
Using lace on your reception tables adds a touch of romance...

    3. A desert buffet: In addition to the wedding cake, lots of couples are opting for a buffet of mini deserts. A selection of Italy's finest dolce to satisfy the sweetest tooth!

    4. Colours: The seasonal shades will be delicate and natural.  Organic hues will give a feeling of wellbeing and tranquility.  Neutrals will be big news but don’t just think beige and gold. Be daring in a subtle way with soft aquas, light tangerines, olive greens and dove greys.
    5. Keeping with the romantic and nostalgic theme, flowers will be big full blooms. Peonies will be the perfect pairing to more classic gowns.  If peonies aren’t your thing (who could not love such a gorgeous bloom?!) opt for soft shades of ivory or light pink.  Add extra romance with subtle adornments of pearls.  Simply stunning.
